We had a very disappointing stay at Nancy Greene's Lodge, which had been recommended and booked by Trailfinders as part of our accommodation package while travelling through British Columbia.
We were allocated a cramped, shabby room with a noisy refrigerator that was inexplicably being used as a bedside table. The room was also poorly soundproofed. To make matters worse, one wall adjoined the fire exit corridor, with a push-bar door providing access to the bar and dining room. Every time other guests used this door, it slammed loudly, causing repeated disturbance late into the evening.
The following morning, we were woken at 6:45 a.m. by a coach party queuing outside our room to access the dining room. The noise and congestion left us with little choice but to get up and leave.
We requested a room change, but were told that because the booking had been made through Trailfinders, the hotel was unwilling to move us to an alternative room. This was an extremely unsatisfactory experience and fell well below the standard we expected from accommodation recommended as part of our travel package.
