Windsor Guest House

We had a great stay at the Windsor Guest House. It is located in a very quiet and peaceful area. The home is beautiful. They also serve breakfast in the mornings. The only negative is that parking is difficult.

My companion and I spent four nights in the Robin Room at the Windsor Cottage behind the main guest house. It was a nice room with mini-fridge, coffee, good shower. The mattress was very good. The view was of the back of the main house, but we appreciated that the windows could open. (It was cool and rainy while we were there.) Downstairs is a pleasant common area with microwave, toaster over/air fryer, sink, and refrigerator. There is also some outdoor seating, if the weather cooperates. Breakfast was basic but good, served with a smile in the main house. As far as negative points, really just that the walls are thin. It's conveniently located on a lovely street near the Broadway/City Hall station on the Canada Line, which makes it very easy to get to the airport and also for dropoff from the ferry. It is a steep hike up a couple of blocks from the station to the house, though. City Hall Park is just down the street, and there are some good restaurants several blocks down Broadway. At present, Broadway is all torn up while they put in a new subway, so there is some inconvenience there, but nothing that really mattered to us. The bus system is good, and it was easy to take the bus to the Museum of Anthropology at UBC and to Main Street in the other direction.

Great location near skytrain Station. Loon room in Cottage House was spacious, quiet, very clean, well-equipped. Very good service via WhatsApp to sort out minor problems. Breakfast fine - nothing special but perfectly adequate. Overall much better than staying in a hotel!
