We have overnighted in Victoria over 25 times. We have been in the Helm's in previously but not for awhile. Our room was exceptional, our price point was over $100 better than all others nearby the ambience of the main building was lovely and Kristian and later Mei were absolutely the best at customer service that we've had in years = plus they were FUN. There are about 6 nearby hotels we've used in the past six years = never again because we've reacquainted ourselves with a GEM

A great hotel for the 4 of us. There are 3 buildings here, but only know about the main one where check-in is. No elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. But, stair risers are gentle, so it truly was no problem. The room was huge, 310, with a full kitchen and somewhat snug bathroom. Table and 2 chairs for working/eating and 2 more easy chairs for lounging. Another chair at a desk across the room. Hanging space, drawers for unpacking. We were on the corner of a fairly busy road with another somewhat busy road, but with the windows closed, the road noise was not an issue. Clean, clean, clean, newly painted with lovely bedding. Great for getting around on foot, but enough away from the busy inner harbor. Great park across the street. We were there for 3 nights and loved it. Amazing in comparison to the other places we have stayed in Victoria. Walked to and from the ferry, too! Enthusiastic 2 thumbs up, Helm’s End!

For the location, this hotel is excellent value for money. It was right opposite Beacon Hill Park, a short walk to the main tourist area, 20 minute walk to Fisherman’s Wharf and had 2 supermarkets only a short walk away too. Our room was large with 2 double beds and a small kitchen area, perfectly adequate to make simple meals. Tea and coffee was provided with extra available in the lobby. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking is available for $10.50 per night and on our last day the staff kindly let us leave our car there until early afternoon. All in all a very pleasant stay.
