Howard Johnson Victoria Elk Lake

Great location. Up to the high standards of Holiday Inns. Great having a restaurant/Bar attached to the Hotel.

After being quoted $400 for a two-night midweek stay in a king bedroom for two guests, we were shocked to be presented a bill at checkout for $1000! Staff claimed they quoted $400/night, but admitted only to a discount for the unexpected and unusual second night surcharge on the bill. Staff had not provided a copy of the billing upon check-in, which I would highly advise future guests to request in order to avoid the unpleasant surprise we received upon check-out.

Renovations are great! They have done a nice job on the hotel and the staff are very friendly. Good location close to Victoria with lots of solid restaurant choices nearby.
