We had booked an M Club Lounge Signature Suite for 3 nights. The reception at check-in and at valet parking was nice.
The room was large, but somehow had no atmosphere. Starting with the fact that the curtains were half-drawn and the room looked gloomy at first glance, the lighting in the interior bathroom was cold-white and direct, so no very cozy feeling arose. Furthermore, the air conditioning was very loud and too direct, so it whistled sideways over the bed in the bedroom. A negative pressure also developed in the room one night, so air whistled very loudly through the room doors to the hotel hallway. It was quite a loud rushing sound and not very pleasant. Also, the sofa bed was not pulled out and made. I probably expected too much, and it was quickly done myself. But it also somehow contributed to the fact that everything didn't feel quite cozy. The bed in the bedroom, however, was very comfortable. The soap in the bathroom is a nightmare. It sticks to the dish and then sticks under your fingernails when you try to use it. Has no employee at Marriott tested this themselves? The offered care products were OK, but nothing special. We were one towel short, even though the number of people was known. The view was nice. In summary: Room size and bed good, but the rest somehow lacks an atmosphere to feel comfortable in.
The M-Club Lounge is not good. The entire lounge is interior with no windows!! Breakfast is served there in the morning, but there are far too few tables that you can sit at properly. Half of the guests eat their breakfast in armchairs with a coffee table. The quality was okay, but the scrambled eggs were not really edible on one of the days. I would have much preferred to sit and eat in the adjacent Fire+Water restaurant. I felt rather sidelined in the lounge. The staff, however, was very nice and helpful!
It also annoyed me a bit that the prices for self-parking and valet parking are listed online with a two-dollar difference, which is why choosing valet parking is actually a no-brainer. Only on-site did I see that member self-parking would have been much cheaper. The difference was significantly larger, and perhaps I would have parked myself then.
Location is very good and the harbor can be reached in 3-5 minutes on foot.
I will not go back there if I ever return to Victoria. The price-performance ratio was not right. The hotel somehow has no soul.

The hotel is situated just a quarter of a mile from the harbour and is within easy walking distance of many of the sights of Victoria. The staff are welcoming and service at the front desk is prompt. Our room was large with a very comfortable king size bed and there was good storage space for our clothes. We found the air conditioning noisy so we shut it off. Unfortunately there was the sound of a pump all night which was a bit obtrusive when trying to sleep. We used the restaurant in the hotel for our breakfast and I thought the choice of breakfast very good and very good value for money. I had “The Canadian”every morning as this was a full breakfast including coffee for only 32 CAD (£17 at current exchange rates). I enjoyed our stay and am happy to recommend it.
