Best Western Mountain Retreat Hotel

Can’t remember the last time I stayed at a place that was so neglected with upkeep and general maintenance. As a professional or for vacation I highly recommend staying somewhere else than the Mountain Retreat.

Be careful -- this hotel did not honor my reservation! In January, 2024, I reserved a room at this hotel for the weekend of December 6-8, 2024. This is also the weekend of the Taylor Swift concert in Vancouver. In March I got a cancelation notice from the hotel, although I never canceled the reservation. I had to call several times asking why the reservation was canceled, and I was finally told there was a "glitch" in the system that canceled my reservation, but they could no longer honor my reservation because the rooms were sold out. I suspect they realized they could get more money for the room because it was the weekend of the Taylor Swift concert. I would not trust this establishment.

We booked an overnight stay for the 1st August 2024. This booking was made on the 30th August 2023 (11 months in advance) and a confirmation email was received. Last week they contacted us to advise they had no rooms available for our chosen date (over two months after booking) and that they were cancelling our reservation. We suspect they have resold our booking at a higher rate. So this is a warning to others looking to consider this hotel.
