I have been coming to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler for over 20 years and this trip was exemplary…with one caveat… in just a minute. But first, the hotel is beautiful in the quieter part of Whistler, known as Blackcomb village. There are hiking/walking trails right out any door that are well marked and offer accessibility for some sections. Our room was on the Gold Floor which adds an additional level of attentiveness and beauty, but the staff throughout the hotel, be it Gold or not, is so kind and professional, that it is important to acknowledge … again with that one caveat. Our room was gorgeous. Clean, updated, small beautiful touches. When we required a crib for a baby’s nap for a few hours, the quality of the baby supplies was top notch. The Fairmont Signature massage is incredible and there is pool side service, again from hard working, super friendly staff. But to write an honest review, it’s important to include all. My caveat on this trip was the indoor/outdoor bar dining called the Mallard Lounge and Terrace. I’ve noticed this trip, and in the past, that the service here feels rushed, less accommodating… almost like it’s a bother to keep the patio going.
At the end of the day, the Chateau Whistler is a 5 star experience with generous and unexpected small touches that make it stand out.

Beautiful hotel in a great location in Whistler. Stayed for a week at the beginning of July. It was very clean and welcoming, but I must admit, a day did not go by when there weren't carts, dirty food trays, care taking and house keeping carts were strewn throughout the hallways from morning until night. Not something that affected our stay, but due to the cost of the hotel, something that was not expected. To top this off, we had to contact houskeeping a couple of times throughout our stay as our room was not cleaned until after later afternoon (after 3 PM) which was a bit of an inconvenience when wanting to have a break in the day before evening activities.
Rooms were a very nice size. The rooms and hallways were quiet. The lobby area and restaurant were bustling which made it a fun place to be. The pool area was always busy, but nothing out of the ordinary. Just wasn't really a place to relax. Not really a spa feel to the pool area during our stay.
The restaurant at the hotel is good, but again, very overpriced. This is something that is consistent around Whistler so should be expected wherever you go, but you are definitely paying for the Fairmont title and not necessarily for the quality of things. Expect to wait awhile for food and drinks and any refills you might be looking for as the Mallard gets busy. Again, Staff were great, but the times we stopped to eat for convenience were not quick stops.
We really do not have any complaints from our stay. Staff were all very friendly. Its a great hotel with a great location. If expected to pay the high cost for everything related to the hotel, you will no doubt enjoy your stay.

A birthday blueprint (planned for 6,566 miles away) that completely fell apart turned into a fairytale and magical stay in Fairmont Chateau Whistler (37 miles away)! Seeing my daughter light up as she enters the room with all those surprises, an indoor tent, a cake and a flower from Myrna(housekeeping) was amazing. The room as beautiful and spotless. The location is very accessible to whistler Blackcomb Gondola where we sang happy birthday while riding on a chairlift. Thank you for turning a birthday setback into a lifetime memory for our 7-yr. old.
