Jag Boutique Hotel

Only problems with this Hotel: 1) The hotel charges my card account for the cost of the room + 100 CAD as a deposit. They do it the morning before my arrival. When I check out, they charge me for the room again, without mentioning the previous charge. When I contact them, they tell me that “probably” the first charge is a “preventive hold”. But 7 days later (today) the double charge is still hitting my account. The contact person mocks me by asking if I have already clarified with my bank whether it is a hold or not and when it will be resolved. The Hotel does not clarify what happened nor does it give any clue as to whether it has already reversed the “error” on its end or not (…) 2) Upon arriving at the Hotel, the “valet” at the door denies me the possibility of entering the parking lot with my car (only he can do it). When I park on the sidewalk across the street, he tells me in a defiant tone that I must pay at the municipal parking machine, at the risk of being fined. 3) No one accompanies us to the room (in a hotel with an unusual layout: 2 buildings with communication on some but not all floors. It is their policy. The guest must fend for themselves 4) Upon arriving at the room: a surprise: the toilet chain does not work (!) 5) I call the front desk and they assure me that they will call me back as soon as they locate someone to fix it. No one calls back. When I go down to the front desk to report what happened, one of the people shrugs and gives me no satisfaction.

As a hotel this place was great. Bed was super comfy. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast in Exile was good and fairly priced. Everything was clean and in good condition. The rock vibe takes it from your run of the mill chain hotel to a unique and fun venue. Tons more character than a Hilton or doubletree. I’d happily stay here again. One note: the harbour view doesn’t add that much. You’re primarily looking at a container yard with the harbour itself a few blocks down. It’s nice from certain angles but not quite the picturesque view I envisioned.

Booked our reservation with the hotel directly on Sept. 2025, arriving July 2026. While speaking with a member of the reservation desk I asked for 2 queen size beds with a walk in shower. I explained that I had recently knee replacement and could not climb over a tub. They understood my request and guaranteed that type of room when we arrived. We arrived July 29th, 2026, and given our keys to our room. We went to our room only to find a bathtub in the bathroom. Not unpacking, we called down to the front desk and explained our circumstances with the tub and that we needed to be moved to a room that we requested. At no time did the person who was a male acknowledge his name or title. He was at no time understanding with my situation and told me there was no such type of room that I requested and who ever I spoke to back in September did not know what they were talking about. He then said he could only offer us a queen/king bed with a sofa in order to get a walk in shower. We refused but made it very clear that housekeeping must have 9 large towels in our room every day to accommodate the safety of my health. These were placed all around the tub, in the tub and on the floor so not to slip. This situation went on for our entire 6 day stay. One thought that came to me was do they provide handy cap accommodations and if so why was I not provided with this. This situation was given to the front desk manager Paul who approached us on the situation. He was very professional, asked us what happened, who spoke to us, and he would look into it and get back to us. As to the 6 days we were there, we never heard from Paul.. It is really disappointing when a classy, corporate hotel can not accommodate the reservation that was made by me as a disabled guest.
