Comfort Inn Halifax

This simple little Comfort Inn punches above its weight class. We stayed here for two nights and were quite pleased. The room was nothing to write home about, pretty basic and good to go. We were easily able to uber into the city center to avoid the parking hassle. The breakfast was stellar, as compared to other sites. The lobby is a place you would actually want to hang out in. The front porch is inviting and has a lovely view of the bay. The park behind the Inn was useful for exercising our dog and ourselves. We really appreciated easy access to the laundry as we were pit-stopping between camping sites and in dire need of a good washing. Unfortunately, our room smelled like stale cigarettes, the AC was meh, and the blackout drapes were missing. We would have asked for a room change but were already ensconced before all three became apparent, and none were a deal breaker. The building seems to be undergoing a remodel, so it has some ugly spots.

Room 323 right above the side door of property, you can smell people smoking by the outside door directly in the room even on the 3rd floor. AC is only efficient in the closed bedroom, where it is located, expect to suffocate in the rest of the room. No mosquito net in the window, so we could not open it because of bugs coming in and child issue being on the 3rd floor. TV cable was also a child issue in the closed bedroom, hanging from TV to a big hole in the wall. TV was NOT working in the closed bedroom. I waited until after 10PM for the night shift employee to have a look and could not fix it. He said the TV was working properly, and it has a limited capacity. He could only find 2 channels working, Not acceptable! Big carpet hazard tripping issue in the stairs to the front desk being under renovation... elderly people tripped in them twice. Breakfast was good, but only 1 employee, expect to wait for warm food refill. You can hear the train on the other side of the street if your window is open, otherwise, it is fine.

Great stay! We loving staying at this hotel. Always very clean. Amazing and friendly team! The breakfast is delicious. Newly renovated I love all the new touches. The kids love the pool and walking trails from the hotel. Great location close to everything.
