Glenghorm Beach Resort

Beds were like concrete. So uncomfortable. At check-in, they said not to dunk the water and gave us two small bottles of water for the whole stay and grocery store nearby was closed.

The location is great, right on the beach. The towels and bed sheets were clean and fresh. BBQ at every cottage. Picnic table for every cottage, although ours was a bit rickety. The refrigerator seems to be new. The kitchenette is old and outdated, except for the refrigerator. The cottage needs some TLC and updating. The kitchenette did not have adequate utensils for cooking or BBQ'ing. A bit pricey for what you get, you are paying for the location. Most of the staff were friendly.

We stayed one night and booked last minute online. We had the yellow cottage. The location of the site is nice by the seaside... the staff is pleasant, professional and understanding, the bedding was clean but... the quality of the infrastructure really leaves something to be desired and the service advertised online is clearly deceptive. I really do not know where this establishment could have unearthed its so-called stars that are displayed on the sign! Let me explain: For the price paid for one night (300 dollars) one cannot be indulgent and accept such service. If I had wanted rustic I would have gone camping. As one can see in the photos, the condition of the cottage is clearly aging, one notices little effort for the maintenance and especially the actual sanitary safety of the client. Everyone will agree that rusty screws in the shower testify that the situation does not date from yesterday. I must also mention that the laundry room made available (no, we are not entitled to an individual machine for 300 bucks apparently...) was really very dirty and that most of the machines were either out of order, or not effective. I have rarely seen such negligence on the part of an establishment owner. Ultimately one will understand that this result is not the fault of the staff (who confided to me that they hear these comments regularly) but clearly, by deduction, the fault of a negligent investor owner who knowingly takes his clientele for suckers. I mention all the same a good point for the welcoming of pets and that the staff mentioned to me that there is no poison against rats and insects.
