Comfort Inn Barrie

Yikes. The photos definitely make this spot seem more modern (and cleaner) than it is. The outside looks really sketchy, especially in the dead of winter when everything is grey. The inside was dark and grimy. Our room had broken cabinet doors, and the inside of the mini fridge had leaked food in it. Oh, and there's no elevator, so if you are disabled you need a main floor room. This was not obvious when booking, and I really struggled with my physical challenges to get our giant suitcase up the stairs, even though it was only one floor. The location is not great either, right on the highway, but not walking distance to anything.

We recently stayed at the quality inn in Barrie Ontario Friday feb 6, 2026 for 1 night. I had a total knee replacement that morning and the weather was very nasty that we couldn’t make it home. My husband called the hotel directly because we have a dog. The girl that he spoke to was so compassionate and accommodating to book us a room with our dog who was more than welcome. The fee for our dog was waived. I’m sorry but he doesn’t remember the name of this employee. Our dog was amazing. It was her first hotel experience and didn’t bark once. At the breakfast buffet this same employee pointed out to my husband there was trays for him to bring me some breakfast. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. We were at the end of the hall so very little traffic went throughout the hallway past our room. I would totally recommend this hotel. I wish I knew the name of this employee because I really beleive she made a huge difference booking our accommodations. Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a long day. The room was spacious and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Great location and excellent value for the quality of service provided. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.
