Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Brockville

I stayed for a single night while in the area on business. This property is easy to find and is close to the 401. There seems to be plenty of parking and there are restaurants, gas stations, etc. close by. Check in was quick and very friendly. The hotel is "typical HIE" which is fine. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Everything worked well and I only have two complaints. Bathroom lighting wasn't great and the bed seems worn out and saggy. I would definitely stay here again despite the two minor issues.

I booked a room directly with this hotel in September 2025, five months ahead of my planned stay in January 2026. We were travelling for an event with other families. About a week before the event, other families start getting calls saying the hotel is overbooked and they are being moved to the Hampton Inn nearby. We hear nothing until 4 days before we are supposed to arrive and then get an email saying that we have been moved to the Quality Inn, which it turns out is in Prescott. No information on what type of room they booked, what it costs or anything else pertinent to allow us to make a decision on what to do. Also no explanation as to why a reservation made 5 months earlier is bumped in favour of other bookings. Based on our experience and that of the other families, I can say that this hotel engages in completely unacceptable business practices. I would strongly suggest avoiding it altogether.

The property is fine. Reservations are a joke. Staff could not organize a 2 car funeral. We had a group with rooms booked in advance 2 weeks in a row. Names were wrong, didn't have enough rooms, billing screw ups, both weeks. Don't know if it is their reservation software system or actually the staff, but horrible. Others, not from our group, had confirmations numbers but no rooms available for them either. (reminded me of a Seinfeld episode, "you know how to take the reservations but you don't know how to hold the reservation" "I don't think you do") Called back asking to have the invoice emailed and couldn't find my reservation but had charged my card. Solution? "Contact the guy that made the reservations, he should have the copies". Sh_t Show.
