Cambridge Waterloo Travelodge

Our stay was disappointing and hazardous. While the front desk representatives were exceptionally kind and professional, the actual state of the hotel was entirely unacceptable, to the point that I will never consider staying at this property, or another Travelodge again. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find the hotel actively undergoing major construction, a critical detail that was completely withheld during the booking process. The exterior grounds were hazardous, with broken glass scattered across the parking lot, and the hotel restaurant was entirely closed, leaving us without both the restaurant access we expected, as well as without the free breakfast that was listed (other than a bag of yogurt, a granola bar and a banana). ​The conditions inside the rooms we rented, however, went far beyond an inconvenience and crossed into serious safety and health violations. In one of our two adjoining rooms, we discovered an extensive, active mold infestation inside a desk drawer. The provided phone book, information folder, and Bible were completely green and fuzzy with mold, as was the entire interior of the drawer itself. Further, a number of the electrical outlets in this same room were completely dismantled and removed, leaving dangerous, wiring exposed. Because our two-year-old child was already asleep for the night in the adjoining room by the time we discovered these hazards, moving rooms at that hour would have caused massive disruption. We were forced to spend the night in an unsafe environment. ​While the night front desk agent was very helpful, taking photographs of the hazards and assuring us that he would escalate the issue, the subsequent management response has been nonexistent. We were explicitly promised that the Manager would contact us on the day of our checkout, yet we have received absolutely no communication 24 hours later (not even the final checkout bill we requested). Selling a room with active mold and exposed wiring is a violation of basic health codes, and ignoring a documented guest safety issue is highly unprofessional.

I am satisfied with my stay at Travelodge. The was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the check in/check out process was smooth. Overall I had a pleasant experience during my stay

It has good location. There are fast food stores, gas stations nearby. It is only 14 minutes' drive to the airport YKF. The room is clean. The staff is quite helpful.
