SUPER 8 CAMBRIDGE/KITCHENER/WATERLOO AREA

Super 8 I don’t normally complain but this “hotel” is beyond REPULSIVE! My suspicions about it being a homeless shelter were confirmed in the morning when I saw a Salvation Army Emergency van outside with clients. I was trying to desperately reserve judgement, even after I removed boogers from the wall beside the sink, but lost my mind when a bed bug crawled over me while my daughter and I were sitting on the bed. I provided a photo of the bug to the desk person who was very apologetic. Yes, they refunded my money. No, the manager has not yet contacted me though I have even phoned the Wyndham head office in the USA. I explained that the fact that it is being used as short term housing for homeless individuals should be disclosed as I NEVER would have stayed there, especially with my daughter!!! We had to pack up and leave immediately as we were so disgusted, and had to find a new hotel, check in, and finish getting ready for the wedding we were about to attend within 1.5 hours! Furthermore, we are praying that the bed bugs haven’t hitched onto our belongings! My entire weekend has been ruined as I was to visit my extended family at a cottage reunion but didn’t want to spread these bugs. This should NOT be a Wyndham property. Advertising is false. We were afraid for our safety in the morning upon realizing what this hotel actually is, apart from the bed bugs and the general filth. I am seeking further Wyndham compensation!

Staff nice and helpful. Hotel needs updates. No sound barriers between walls. I wouldn't be surprised if the rented the rooms by the hour.

Extremely basic accommodation = right off highway Location good - huge variety of stores and restaurants nearby Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean - but oh so very tired. Entire hotel needs update
