Gananoque Inn And Spa

We slept only one night for the thousand islands cruise. The location is perfect for reaching the pier and for walking around the streets of the town. It has a beautiful porch and garden right on the river. There is no elevator. Breakfast is not a buffet, you choose a dish from a menu and then they bring you coffee and juice, but they accommodated our requests to modify the dishes. Spacious room and comfortable beds.

we had dinner at Muskie Jakes at the Gananoque Inn. We had a male server who was just ok. my concern was with the questionable cleanliness of the restaurant. When on my way to the restroom there was a door that was marked Staff only. I have included a photo. It looked like this door may lead to the kitchen. I wonder how clean the inside of the kitchen area is when this is what the customer Can see….. Who would think that this is acceptable?

The inn is old and has a tired feel but has been remade to modern standards and has a certain charm. No issues with our room - comfortable beds with good quality linens, a newly renovated bathroom and a view to die for. The breakfasts though, as other reviews have pointed out, are indeed horrible. I’d avoid anything coming from this kitchen. Otherwise there’s potential here for an excellent stay in a hard to beat location right on the water.
