Motel 6 Kingston Ontario

This used to be my go-to place for a clean, safe, affordable place to rest, but they use such strong deodorizing products that my asthma was triggered big time. It made it hard to breathe. Even with the window open, there was no relief from the stench. It seems clean enough, but you have to wonder what they’re trying to cover up.

Breakfast consisted of watery coffee dispensed from a machine. No freshly made coffee, no fruit no cereal - nothing but a small bowl with a couple of small muffins in a cellophane package. Misleading to suggest “ breakfast “ was provided. The room was clean but sparse. The bed was hard as were the pillows. There was a light coverlet that didn’t provide any warmth. Really a very unsatisfactory experience. Never again.

Motel 6 is the perfect place for a budget traveler. The large clean room has everything you would need in a simple way. The furniture is more Ikea design with two Queen size beds, small round table with two chairs, fridge, microwave, luggage rack, wall mirror, wall hooks with hangars as no closet, tv on wall. The bathroom is nice, clean, and large with soap, hairdryer and kleenex. In the morning after 6am there are muffins available. The area is industrial just off the Highway 401 so ask for a room opposite the highway. A block away from the hotel are two gas stations that have also electric charging stations, truck stop and 24 hours convenience store with a Tim Hortons and an A&W.
