Guelph On Travelodge

Staff was great, very welcoming and easy to work with. Room was above expectations, only problems were pee/jizz stains on the pillows, black mold in the corner of the main room, no remote for tv, and the toilet door would not close even if locked (turned into a cuck toilet!). Besides those hiccups, me and my husband had a wonderful time in the city center of Guelph! Overall, way better than the 1.9 stars it was given on tripadvisor.

This is one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in! Parking for about 20 cars and is located next to the bus terminal. Rooms are very outdated and musty. At 4:00pm were told we could talk too loud (laughing) because other guest complained. Windows did not open and hallways/elevators very sketchy.

Everything a below average. Peeling wallpaper, really dated. Tiny room. Bed was more like a futon with cheap rayon sheets, two crappy pillows and a moving blanket type quilt. Not filthy but still a bit sketchy. More disturbing, I was asked to provide a $200 deposit for damages. When I got to the room there was an itemized list of all expenses to be charged for each item should it be missing or damaged. Before I could get this deposit back, my room was inspected by a cranky manager. I don’t mean just if anything was missing, they did things like pull the bedding back, check their cheap micro fibre sheets and pillow cases for I’m not sure what? Huge rip off for the price when you can get an entire refurbished, spotless suite in Guelph for $20-30 more. 100% sure no one stays here twice!
