Motel 6 Huntsville

Pillows definitely need improvement, for thatnprice i can get free continental brwakfast, microwave, coffee maker and 4 pillows on a queen size bed. Also, the staff is not honest enough, even after checking mybdrivers license seeing Im over 60 years old did not apply the senior discount and the good guy in the morning when i checked out tried his best to apply the discount couldnt. And i was told the evening shift guy is someone who just wont apply the discount unless you know you deserve it. This blatant dishonesty and taking advantage of people.

It is outside the city in a quiet area where there are several hotels. The staff is friendly and the room is very proper, spacious, and clean. It has an indoor pool that is very nice after a whole day of walking. There is a back door with a barbecue for guest use and complimentary coffee and tea in front of the reception.

Price was right. Location is great. Building looks great from the outside….and it’s pet friendly (with a great area for dogs out back!) BUT…..as soon my husband and I checked in with our dog, we noticed a strong, stale smoke smell in the hallway. The smell in the room was even worse. Although the room was small (we can handle that), and the bathroom was clean….the smell of stale smoke was much more than we could handle. Opening the window and turning on the AC didn’t help. The owners of this motel need to strip the rugs, drapes, and bedspreads from the rooms. The smell of smoke has seeped into everything!! We felt nauseated all evening….even our dog was having a hard time sleeping. I woke up with a sore throat…while my husband’s allergies were triggered. Got on the road earlier than expected, just to get out of that room. If you’re a smoker….I’m sure you won’t mind it. If you’re a non smoker, I’d go elsewhere. All we got was a “sorry” when we checked out. Motel 6, you need to do better!
