Altamont Court Hotel

My stay at hotel Altamont Court receives a satisfactory rating, however, I foundation the breakfast meager. You only get two slices of bread and if you want more, you have to pay. I travel a lot and this is the first time I've experienced this. Their room, bath and toilet are clean and smell good. The hotel's location is perfect/central. Overall, a nice hotel, except for the breakfast.

My brother and I stayed at the Altamont for 4 nights. I wanted to leave the same night of checking in. My room had a STRONG, STALE, MOLDY, MUSTY smell, and the worst part, it had ROACHES!!!!! Because of our late check-in, because of a late flight, and leaving out soon after to get food, and returning really late after midnight why we didn't mention it to the staff then. ROACH #1, first roach I did see as we was leaving out to go in my brother's room, right after checking in, it was under the sink in the bathroom, I killed it. Then the second one was found running around the toilet after we got back, that's when I called my brother, screaming that I wanted to leave NOW!!!! He calmed me down and told me to put my suitcases on the bed and tomorrow we sort it out because it was really late, and the reservation was in his name. I wanted to leave ASAP, I didn't want another room, I wasn't comfortable at all. My brother's room was a little better than mine was, there was no bad smell, and just overall appearance was a bit better. The pictures they have on the website is basically filtered because in person it looks nothing like what's up, instead it looks more like a cheap MOTEL!!! For the price that was paid for the 4 nights was really not worth it. Because of all the cons, we didn't even have the breakfast that was included. The following morning my brother spoke to someone, not sure who, but she told him they will change my room. We left that morning for our activities. When we return that night there was another staff there, we asked about the room change, which she had no idea about because she saw no notes about the situation. So we told her about it, and of course she extended her apologies and told us we could have told them about the situation that same moment. She then went ahead and gave me a different room, which was just an upgraded motel, still had an odor just wasn't as overpowering as the first. Yes the location is great, but keep in mind it's not a "hotel" but is a Motel! I would never go back. OH, the last night there, there was a LIZARD in my room!!! I was so freaked out.

Altamont Court Hotel is a great choice if you want comfort, convenience, and laid-back city vibes. The staff is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the stay feel easy and stress-free. The atmosphere is relaxed and chill, perfect for unwinding after a busy day out. The location is a major plus—right in New Kingston and close to shops, parks, restaurants, nightlife, and easy access to the airport. The on-site restaurant staff deserve special mention. Tiara went to the kitchen one morning and got a special breakfast prepared for my aunt who is a vegetarian, when the vegetable option was finished). Shanice aka Ms. Hallelujah and Kallelisa blessed us with gospel music in the mornings before we stared our day. Claudette was so warm and welcoming, she felt like a long lost auntie I've found. I was really impressed by their excellent service and warm hospitality. The front desk staff was also helpful and made my stay feel like a real a taste of home. Overall, this is a solid base for an active trip—an ideal location if you plan on daily touring, enjoying the nightlife, and fully experiencing what Kingston has to offer.
