Motel 6 London

Wow. This is a basic hotel. The elevator is sketchy as hell and i refused to use it. You could tell there WAS 2 beds in our room and it was removed. We were left with one horribly hard double size bed and an empty other half. No chair. No couch. Nothing. No coffee maker. The TV was on top of a closet. I could hear everything in the room next to us. I paid $100 for this. It felt like we were in a college dorm. London was gross and so was this hotel.

Noisy. There needs to be a fan in the bathroom to use as white noise from outside as snow removal and backup beeps went in all night. Paper thin walls between adjoining rooms. This couple came in at 5 am, I thought it was a party of teenage girls but nope it was just one with a penetrating voice. After 30 min they were done screaming (even the tv didn’t cover their fun). Room was good, clean, comfy.

Motel 6, the corporation and this property, are absolutely horrendous. I was staying and had to leave unexpectedly due to a serious emergency. I was told when I checked out, literally less than two hours later, that I would be refunded. I've been in contact for over a month and zero has been done except for the property trying to incite me to commit fraud. They've told me multiple times that I've been refunded and the bank is "holding" my refund; spoke with VISA and not a single thing had been done. Further, when I managed to get someone on the phone at the Motel 6 call centre that actually had a basic grasp of English and was willing to help, she told me that she could see no refund had been attempted and I had been lied to multiple times. Additionally, this property said they'd send proof of refund (never got it because they never issued it) and I was to take that to the bank. So they were trying to have me commit fraud. VISA was incredulous and said this comes with a heavy penalty. I've called escalations and they told me to "reach out to the property." I told them this is far past a refund now and has wavered into wildly illegal territory. They said its "up to the property." What company lets franchisees commit fraud and pretends its a minor issue? Motel 6, evidently. I've been muted, had staff not take notes, hung up on multiple times, had them refuse to answer questions. We travel extremely frequently and we'd never even consider a Motel 6 anywhere ever again. Absolutely not. And I was at this location for a Bachelorette party-- we were to all stay at different hotels around the area and were to report back to the bride so she could book a 103 room block (international wedding). After this she chose the Hilton. My inlaws cancelled a three week stay at another Motel 6 because they were appalled at the lack of care from the company. I've actually told others about this in passing public situations, people who were booked at this location, most frequently at the Tim Hortons and the Petro on the corner, and I've watched them go to another hotel in the immediate vicinity. At this location, you can tell who runs it. Years ago it was clean, well maintained and staffed appropriately. Not any more. It's filthy dirty, it smells moldy and stale. The room had a portable AC that didn't work and leaked. The tub clearly hadn't been cleaned. The carpet was visibly dirty with holes. Stains on the walls. Only one elevator worked. It was vile and very sketchy. Literally look for ANY other location to stay. We've since stayed at the Hilton Suites next door and it was great. It's the same parking area. Go there.
