Midland Inn & Suites

The bed slid off its frame and landed at a 45 degree angle - impossible to sleep on. Would have moved the matress to the floor to try and get some sleep - except that I had already killed 5 different bugs on the carpet and bathroom floor, so sleeping closer to the floor wasn't an option. When asked for a refund/discount for the night the front desk did nothing. Said they left a message with the owner. Owner did not respond, nor did they respond to my follow up email. Providing a bed for a comfortable night's sleep is the most basic service a hotel can provide. They failed to do so, would not recommend this place.

My wife and I stayed at the Midland Inn motel for one night (room #205), from August 2nd to August 3rd, 2025. While the motel appeared clean, with all its sanitary fixtures functioning properly and a pleasant breakfast provided, we experienced the worst nightmare a traveler can face during a hotel stay: bed bugs. Early on Sunday morning, after my wife had a night of constant interruptions to her sleep, we discovered a bed bug crawling on top of one of the pillows. Upon further inspection of the bed, we found several more live bed bugs. It was absolutely disgusting to realize we had spent the night in a bed infested with these creatures. We took photos and videos as evidence and immediately reported the incident to the motel manager on duty. He was very accommodating, offering to dry our belongings in the motel’s dryer, which we did for the items we thought might still be salvageable. We were also offered a full refund for the night. That said, some of our personal belongings had to be discarded on the spot to avoid the risk of bringing the bed bugs back home, while others shrank or became unusable after being subjected to the heat of the dryer. To make matters worse, my wife suffered from multiple bed bug bites in various areas of her body, which became extremely itchy and, days later, even began to ooze liquid. While the motel manager was helpful on Sunday morning, we also contacted the ownership to request compensation for the personal belongings we had lost as a result of the incident. Unfortunately, our request was refused. (Just to clarify, we weren’t asking for a substantial amount—far from it.) Instead, we were offered a free night at their motel, which, given our experience, was not a viable option for us. Unfortunately I am not allowed to upload the video evidence here, but if anybody needs to see it I can provide it. I’m sharing this review so potential travelers are aware of this incident and can make an informed decision about whether to stay at the Midland Inn during their upcoming trips to the Midland area.

I can't recommend the Midland Inn & Suites more. It's clean, safe, a great breakfast buffet and overall great value. Staff is extremely helpful and goes above and beyond to ensure guests have an immaculate experience. Will absolutely be back!
