ALT Hotel Toronto Pearson

We stayed two nights on layovers and choose the convenient Alt hotel over the more expensive YYZ counterpart. It was a great choice. We were celebrating a special day on our travels and they left us a note and gift. Never in my travels has any hotel or resort gone this extra mile. The room was cozy, spacious and quiet. The restaurant has a great selection of grab and go and pizza and they are open late. The pizza is really good, don’t miss it. There is a water bottle refill station on two floors. It’s a really quick ride to the hotel and back to terminal on the link train. I was very impressed with Alt and will certainly book again the next time I stay at the airport. Thanks Alt hotel!

We stayed one night at the Alt Hotel Toronto Airport and our Lexus RX was stolen from their parking lot. What followed was one of the most infuriating and tone-deaf responses from hotel management I have ever experienced. Here is what you need to know before you park here: The hotel's own staff admitted this happens regularly. When we reported the theft, staff told us cars are stolen from this lot approximately once every other month. That is six times a year, and yet there are no warnings posted, no gate, and no active security measures to deter theft or aid in recovery. Management was completely remorseless. The manager Vijay offered no apology and took zero accountability. A second staff member, Andrea, escalated to open hostility. She became verbally aggressive and dismissive when we simply asked the hotel to acknowledge their failure to warn guests of a known, recurring security risk. Their "resolution" was an insult. They offered to reimburse us $20, the cost of one night's parking, for a stolen vehicle. That speaks for itself. The security situation is indefensible. No gate. No active security. When we pressed them, they eventually produced footage of the individual taking our car, footage they initially claimed did not exist. In their formal written response, they pointed to small, easy-to-miss disclaimer signage in the lot as their defense. That signage does not change the fact that staff verbally confirmed they have known about recurring theft for years and have taken no meaningful action. Their written response made things worse. After we escalated in writing, the hotel copied their in-house lawyer and denied all responsibility, blamed a third party, and characterized our understandable frustration as misconduct on our part. No acknowledgment of the known risk. No accountability. Just legal deflection. If you are flying out of Toronto and considering parking your vehicle here, do not. The hotel is aware that their lot is an active target for car theft, has chosen to do nothing meaningful to prevent it, and will not take responsibility when it happens to you. Avoid this property entirely.
