Courtyard By Marriott

We booked a room in February 2026 for August 20, admittedly through booking.com. We received an email at 1:27 day of check in that our room was cancelled by Marriott. No reason was given. We were of course upset, and when I said I didn’t want to leave the service desk until we were given answers, Dan, manager on site, told me “I needed to move or this will get ugly for you and me”. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but it felt threatening to me as a woman by myself. He also told me if I didn’t move away from the service desk, he could and would call the police on me. I did not raise my voice to the staff, nor talk to them in a demeaning way - I just demanded answers I felt I deserved. I did not feel safe nor comfortable to stay here after this interaction.

Very good hotel considering the price point, and the location was particularly convenient for our family. Our room was clean and spacious. As we booked quite late, the only room option available was a king bed with a sofa bed. It was still perfectly adequate for our family, although a room with two beds would probably have been preferable. The location was excellent — around a 5-minute walk to the busy tourist area of Clifton Hill, while being just far enough away from the main crowds to feel a little quieter. There’s also a Starbucks directly across the parking lot, although I believe it doesn’t open until after 7am. Niagara Falls is approximately an 8-minute walk away via the stairs, or around 15 minutes if you go via Clifton Hill. If you have a stroller, I would recommend taking the Clifton Hill route, as the shorter stairs route has an unpaved path and was quite difficult with a stroller. We were able to leave our car parked at the hotel for the entire duration of our visit, which was a real bonus with young children. Parking was an additional CAD $25 per night. The pools can get quite busy, particularly in the late afternoon, but they were a nice addition for the kids. The on-site restaurant offers breakfast, although there are several other options nearby. We tried the hotel breakfast, which was CAD $20 per adult and free for children, and found it to be a convenient option. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and felt the hotel offered good value for money, particularly given the excellent location. We would definitely consider staying here again for a family trip to Niagara Falls

1-Star — Do NOT Stay Here Avoid the Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls at all costs. On the night of July 25–26, 2026, my car was broken into in their own parking lot and cleaned out — iPad, expensive sunglasses, my entire golf bag, gone. A second car in our group, parked in the same lot that same night, was hit too. Two vehicles, same group, same night — that is not a coincidence, and it raises serious questions about who knew exactly which cars to target. No cameras. No lighting. No patrols. And when we reported it, management couldn’t be bothered to do anything — no apology, no footage, no accountability. All they offered was a link to file a police report ourselves. That’s it. This hotel takes your money and offers zero protection for your property. We felt like an inconvenience, not victims of a crime that happened on their own property. Stay anywhere else.
