Radisson Ottawa Parliament Hill

Picked this hotel because I wanted hotel parking on the hill to make sight seeing easier. Dismayed to discover that there are so few parking spots that hotel guests cannot trust a space will be available at the end of a long day. So then you get to search for other parking on the hill or wait for one of the evening staff to finish their shift to steal their spot. Stayed as part of a conference and wish I had chosen one of the other options. I had to make two separate, consecutive reservations to stay for the full week, using two different promo codes because even the 1-800 number could not connect the two. When we arrived, the front desk promised that they would try to leave us in the same room but ultimately they did not. Then on the day of the transfer, the hotel staff planned to refuse me a late checkout/early check-in, leaving me without a room for the day. After a protest, they "unexpectedly" discovered that in fact they did have a clean room available after all. It should never have gotten to that point.

I had a pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn. The location is great; you can reach the parliamentary buildings in about a 10-minute walk. Very nice reception from Artem and Mohammed at the front desk. The room was fine, pleasantly spacious. The only downside was the quite loud air conditioning unit. However, it was not that warm, so the unit did not run all the time. Everything was clean and functional - what more could one want? Breakfast is served à la carte. I found the selection acceptable, and the price-to-value ratio is good. I also had dinner there twice, and everything was fine; especially here, the service was very friendly and attentive again.

Booked a suite but terribly disappointing. I booked direct with the hotel, on the phone they said breakfast is included for 4 people but it was not. AC was too loud - woke up each time it turned on and off (on auto). For a suite, we had a terrible view - the back of the signage - super messy. No complimentary water (not even a dispenser). No slippers. A lot of basic things not included so don’t assume they are there.
