Sonder The O'Connor Apartments Downtown

Second stay at Sonder O’Connor in Ottawa back in July. Booked online on Sonder app for two rooms. We were charged twice (see screen shot of card statement). Once by SONDER THE OCONNOR, and again by SONDER HOSPITALITE. Sonder insists they only charged once and we are still trying to resolve the issue. We like the hotel and intend to say there in the future but this is really testing our patience. Are these the same merchant or not?

This was our first experience in a Marriott Apartment style vacation rental. The apartment was well equipped and maintained and the complex has a gym, common room and luggage storage. However no restaurant/ bar type of thing. There is a manned reception but they are fairly hands off. There is also parking underneath the hotel but this is provided by a different company (22$ a day at the point we stayed). Bed in the main bedroom was comfortable however the sofa bed was not, so bear that in mind if you will need it. If you are facing out the back towards the museum it is worth noting at present there is construction going on. This did not disturb us during our stay but wanted to note. Location was good, right beside the Canadian Museum of Nature and about a 20 min walk from Parliament Hill.

I had a wonderful experience during my stay at this hotel in Ottawa. From the seamless online check-in process to the attentive and friendly customer service, everything was smooth and welcoming. The building itself is well-maintained and offers a range of convenient amenities that enhanced our overall comfort. The location is also within walking distance to a pharmacy, restaurants, and other essential services, which made exploring the area and meeting our needs very easy. Security is clearly a priority, with access codes required at every entry point, providing an added sense of safety throughout the stay. The only downside was the pull-out sofa bed. Unfortunately, it was quite uncomfortable, with noticeable springs that made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. This was a minor letdown in an otherwise excellent experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this property for its service, location, and security, especially if you're not relying on the sofa bed for sleeping arrangements.
