Days Inn And Conf Centre Owen Sound

I have stayed at the Quality Inn many times over the last year but I am done. So disappointed. They have been undergoing extensive renovations since last fall and customer satisfaction is not a priority. They do not inform you of the renos but still charge full price. The pool is not in order and they have removed basic amenities such as coffee and tea from rooms. Also the hair dryer was missing. Choice Hotel standards are no longer met and havent been for quite some time. There were wires hanging everywhere and so much dust from the renos. Two days in a row they tested smoke alarms before 9am without notice. This morning the workers started digging up the parking lot at 7:30am. You’ll notice a slew of recent bad reviews on Google because of these things and a canned response from the so-called manager. When you inquire about these things they tell you they are switching to a Hilton and it’s a Hilton standard. However, this is been happening since fall 2025 and they are still a Quality Inn a.k.a. a Choice hotel. I started a formal complaint with Choice hotels which will probably go nowhere because they are changing it to a Hilton. But if they believe that the negative reviews will not transfer over when they change brands, they are sorely mistaken. I’ve also decided to pursue legal action to recoup all of my costs due to the flagrant and fraudulent misrepresentation.

We booked this 4-night stay at Quality Inn, Owen Sound through Expedia after also speaking with reservations at Choice Hotels. Neither Expedia nor Quality Inn warned us that: 1. The pool and hot tub are currently CLOSED due to renovations. 2. The continental breakfast dining room is CLOSED due to renovations, however, they are providing a brown bag breakfast in lieu of. 3. The halls and rooms have strong paint fumes. We are sleeping with the heat off and window open in -14°C to try and minimize the strong paint fumes. We complained through Expedia feedback, who claimed they would pass along our concerns to Quality Inn, but have not heard back from either Expedia nor Quality Inn. We would have left the first night if we hadn’t booked non-refundable. The staff are wonderful, despite working/breathing in horribly strong paint fumes all day.

We booked this hotel for a last minute event in Owen Sound. We chose this property for it's advertised amenities including pool, hot tub, restaurant, free hot breakfast etc. When booking, there was nothing shown on the Choice hotels mobile site to notify that EVERYTHING was closed in the hotel. When one family noticed an alert on a third party site the day before check-in, we contacted both the hotel as well as Choice requesting that they at least honour the hot breakfast. Instead of trying to work with us, we were told that we should just cancel all the reservations and book elsewhere! I had 3 other group bookings to make this past week and needless to say I have opted for another chain... one that actually provides customer service and advertised amenities!
