Motel 6 Peterborough

Yes I know Motel 6 is a budget hotel to stay at and I booked it without high expectations. Arrived to check in and there was nobody at the front desk for 15 minutes (truly 15 minutes) - despite other staff looking at me as they passed through the lobby.. When I checked in I asked if there was power outside so I could plug in the coolers. Was told yes. My GF went in to take our stuff up only to find that the room wasn't made up. Food in the fridge and someone in the bathroom. She came back to the front desk and was told that their system said it was cleaned - another 15 minutes. I looked for a power outlet and none of them worked. Reception called maintainance and they said that it was not working but will be fixed on Tuesday - this was Sunday. Room however was fine but was not impressed overall with this property.

Appears nice from the outside...but the inside is a different story. This property shows lack of care and Upkeep from the minute you walk into the lobby right through the room. The front desk staff was not friendly at all, no greeting no smile just asked for ID, credit card, and handed keys. The lobby was sweltering hot - not sure if that's what the staff considers a "warm welcome". The common areas were not well kept and dirty. The room itself was small and at a quick glance seemed clean, but at a closer look you can tell the basics are just done, nothing more. Crevices are covered in dust and dirt. Curtains had questionable stains. The bath tub was full of hair and other splatters of who knows what. Not enjoyable stay in the least. No coffee maker in the room, charged $2 for a keurig cup in the lobby. Hairdryer didn't work. Walls were paper thin, was woken up by people walking and talking going to their rooms at night. Will not be back and likely will not stay at another Motel 6 again.

I booked a room over the phone, the guy who I spoke with said he would hold it for me as long as I showed up by 630pm he took my name and number. when we arrived the guy who i spoke with over the phone acted like he had no clue what i was talking about he said they were sold out and he told me I was in the wrong location and proceeded to laugh about it with another coworker.. after loking through my phone records and realizing that I did infact speak with him earlier I went back into the hotel and showed him my call records and told him that it was his mess up not mine.. He then quickly put me in a room that magically became available. our room was on the 3rd floor. on our way upstairs we noticed all the hallways were covered in garbage and the hand sanitizers were covered in dust and debris. the elevators were filthy as well as the vending machines. when we got to out room our door just opened without a key. when we locked the door from inside it didn't work you could still just open it no problem from the outside so obviously that's not safe so we had to call to get someone to come up and fix that. when I called down to the front desk to inform them about the door not working i realized our room phone wouldn't work ither so I had to call the hotel from my personal phone.. I told the desk about the phone but they didn't say anything or replace it. after getting all that somewhat sorted out we went back up to our room to relax and when we put the TV on it didn't work ither.. literally one thing after another.. again we called to have someone come up again to fix it. we understand sometimes things don't work but this was a bit ridiculous.. the bathroom sink had dirt around the faucets but I cleaned that myself the bed was clean and the shower was hot and had good shower pressure.. we will not be staying here ever again though.
