Quality Inn New Liskeard

A big reason I selected this hotel was for the hot tub. When we arrived, the front counter had a sign identifying there was a hot tub, as did the website. Only once down to the pool area did we realize that it was out of order. Lack of communication was disappointing.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn in New Liskeard on our way to Bracebridge. We’ve always chosen Holiday Inn because I’ve considered it one of the more reliable hotel chains: comfortable beds, decent service, a good breakfast, and nice amenities like a pool and hot tub. However, this stay was very disappointing, especially given the nearly $300 nightly rate, even though we're IHG rewards members. The rooms are not soundproof at all. We heard doors opening and closing all night and barely slept. The front desk service also felt indifferent; when we checked out, no one asked how our stay was or even said “have a good day.” The breakfast area was extremely crowded around 8:30 a.m., and it would really help to have two stations for the hot food to ease the congestion. Overall, the experience did not live up to the Holiday Inn standard I’ve come to expect, and I’ll likely look at other options next time.

I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express in New Liskeard. The room was clean and comfortable, showing a little bit of its age but still very pleasant. The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast was great, with a good selection of items to choose from. Although the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, the staff recommended Ali’s across the road, and it was an excellent suggestion. The food there was delicious! Overall, a great experience, and I’d definitely stay here again.
