Main reason we booked was for the pool but there is so much chlorine our eyes were burning and it hit the back of our throats. Had to leave the pool within 5 minutes as it felt so strong. Now I know why there was hardly any one in there. We visit pools all over and this one is unusable to me!

We recently spent two nights at The Chelsea Hotel in Toronto and overall it was a good experience. I would actually give it 4.5 but there isn’t an option for that. The location was fairly easy to get to, check-in was quick, everyone who we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. They actually went out of their way to offer help or to see if you had any questions. Our room itself was an executive king. It looked to be fairly recently renovated with the exception of the bathroom. This is where we felt let down a bit. The wallpaper was peeling and the bathtub had definitely seen better days. The blowdryer was one of those wall-mounted versions…ugh. Our room had a balcony however it wasn’t furnished at all. A couple little chairs and a table would have been a nice touch for morning coffee or relaxing in between sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and the in-room amenities were good. There was a Nespresso coffee maker in the room and I really appreciated the liquid coffee creamer (most hotels seem to only provide the packets of powdered creamer). The location was okay but it was a good long walk to get to the waterfront and there also weren’t many restaurant options nearby that struck our fancy. That being said we did enjoy a few gems that I may review later. We almost tried the restaurant in the hotel but when we looked at the menu it was very small, quite expensive and not to our liking despite having really good reviews. We didn’t get a chance to check out the entertainment or the bar but both looked interesting. They have live music on the weekends as well as special events. There are two pools in the hotel, one area is an adults only, which we heartily approve of, and one is a family pool with a corkscrew waterslide. The hotel was very busy when we were there and there was sometimes a wait for the elevator which seemed slow but not a big deal. They have a beautiful and serene courtyard and the interior hotel decor is very pretty. Overall it seems as if The Chelsea has put a lot of effort into making itself into a destination rather than just a spot to lay your head and I would definitely stay here again.

A large hotel in downtown Toronto. It was understandably very busy given it was August but the helpful staff took it in their stride. Breakfast was excellent, a large variety. My room was nice and i enjoyed the 16th floor balcony. I made use of the adults wellness centre too
