Fairmont Royal York Hotel

As a Veteran with 36 years in the Canadian military I’ve travelled the world and extensively after I retired with my wife. As such I’ve stayed at hotels all over including luxury hotels in places like Dubai. We just spent 3 days here at the Fairmont in Toronto and I can say in all honesty it was the best hotel experience we have ever had. This hotel is beautiful, elegant and spacious. The front lobby as you walk in is something to see. However, the best part, the one thing that did it for us was the staff. We probably met 20 different staff members during our stay and without exception they were all just wonderful. Treated us like VIPs, always smiling and eager to assist. Truly an amazing spot to stay.

Fairmont Royal York is located in Old Toronto, Toronto, Canada. It is directly opposite Union Station, be sure to exit through Front Street. Its rooms are spacious and are a good value for money, cleanliness is superb and all the necessary amenities are present. I spent multiple nights there on my visit to Toronto. On my second visit, I received an upgrade due to a personal request and as a member of All Accor. The atmosphere is calm and serene, I had a good time checking in, walking through the lobby, dining in its restaurant, and relaxing in its communal spaces. I would overall recommend a stay here during a visit to Toronto.

I am still in this hotel about to check out. This morning, when my stepdaughter and I woke up, I heard "what the hell?!" There was a big brown stain on her bed, on the sheets, on the underside. It is not an old stain that had been washed. It is a different texture from the rest of the sheet. She has not eaten or drunk anything in her bed. It has obviously been there since before we arrived and these sheets have CLEARLY NOT BEEN WASHED. I complained to the front dest and was offered 20% off the price of the stay. I don't know how I feel about this but I don't think it's happy. DISGUSTING.
