HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS DOWNTOWN

Hotel is fairly well located, it has a parking lot (for a fee). The rooms are clean, a bit small and they lack light. The bathroom is small, a bit cheap, not functional. The Wi-Fi was lousy. The mattress is soft. Comfortable perhaps if you like mattresses that are too soft... but all the mattresses in our accommodations were like that so maybe it's normal?! ( 140cm beds ) The breakfast is perhaps satisfactory for North American standards but not for French / Europeans. The selection is limited: a few savory dishes, no vegetables (except for sautéed potatoes or beans), a ridiculous choice of fruit (apple or banana?). There is a choice between 3 or 4 cereals, if that's fabulous for some, not for us. But the muffins are good, the pancakes too. There are yogurts (one or two kinds). There is of course ketchup on the table... on the other hand NO HOT CHOCOLATE!!!! And honestly that is embarrassing, there is no difficulty in offering that. No really, the breakfast is neither extraordinary nor incredible. It is rather pathetic. And the plastic / cardboard dishes, can we talk about that???

The hotel was very nice. The people working the front desk were helpful. Check in was very quick and easy. The shower had good pressure. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options. I had eggs, oatmeal and fruit.

Excellent for a few days, especially if you will be walking around the city.
