Great experience. We stayed for 3 nights as a family of 5. Rooms and hotel were very clean and comfortable. Reasonable walking distance (but not necessarily short) to many major attractions... Hockey Hall of Fame, CN tower, Rogers Centre, Waterfront, Royal Ontario Museum, plus many restaurants. Our car stayed in the hotel garage the whole time. We don't mind walking and this location worked great for our family. I would definitely return to this hotel.

During our trip to Canada, we stayed three nights and at a later time, one more night in this hotel. The Marriott is very centrally located in downtown Toronto and is easily reachable on foot from Union Station in 10-15 minutes. It is a very large, professionally run hotel that generally meets expectations in this category. However, the entire hotel decor from the lobby to the bar and restaurant to the rooms appears very outdated, and the decor no longer matches today's taste. Therefore, the overall performance, in my opinion, is not in proportion to the very high price (we paid an average of a staggering 330 euros per night for a double room without breakfast). Thus, only three out of five points. Our room was very large with a comfortable king bed (though the pillows were less comfortable), a sofa, a desk with a chair, a coffee maker, and an iron and ironing board. The furniture made of dark wood is in an acceptable state of maintenance; however, it is many years (likely decades) old and definitely needs to be replaced. This also applies to the outdated, unhygienic carpet. Unfortunately, the window could not be opened, but the air conditioning worked at a reasonable volume. Sufficiently large bathroom with a strong floor-to-ceiling shower and a powerful hairdryer. The towels, however, were anything but fluffy. Like the sleeping area, the bathroom was impeccably clean. The staff was generally professional, friendly, and attentive. However, receptionist Carlos Harrison still needs to learn that checking-out guests should be greeted with a friendly "Good morning!" instead of a curt "Room number?" and that customers should be allowed to finish speaking when they have a question about the bill.

The Marriott’s location in the heart of Toronto and adjacent to the Eaton Center is a huge plus. The front desk staff were pleasant and friendly and our room was reasonably sized and very clean. However, the food and service quality at Trios Restaurant was average at best. Although it was not busy, we waited close to 30 minutes for our bill on a Sunday night. Colleagues of mine reported similar concerns. I’m unsure if the location justifies the higher nightly rate compared to other hotels in the vicinity.
