Traveling with a group of 8 - kids, parents, grandparents, etc. and this place fit the bill. It is good for groups who want to be together but need their own room with a door. The breakfast was more than adequate. If you are expecting a dorm, you will be pleasantly surprised but if you expect a fancy hotel, you will be disappointed. Free parking, breakfast, elevator, ping pong. Pool tables, laundry rooms and walking to restaurants and bars. The rooms have refrigerators and stoves but you have to request cutlery, dishes, etc.

Great idea of Holland College to rent out their student dorms (apartment) to tourists during the summer break! It's not like a hotel in the sense that you don't get room service or typical housekeeping, but towels, linens, and toiletries are provided and you can request new ones if needed. Kitchen sets are also available upon request if you want to cook. There is always somebody at the front desk. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I noticed there are laundry faciliies on sites (you can pack lighter), and a continental breakfast is also included. They have locked rooms to securely store luggage before or after checkout too. The building is well located; right beside a Confederation trail and just a 10 minute walk from downtown and the marinas. There are tear-up maps of Charlottetown at reception you can take with you. Very convenient. I recommend this accomodation; especially for families traveling with children or groups. No need to overspend on double/triple rooms at hotels! Great for anyone really. Fair Price.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere reasonable to rent for a week in Charlottetown and eventually stumbled on Glendenning Hall after nearly cancelling our trip after viewing the ridiculously inflated prices at places like Holiday Inn or the Delta Hotel. ASfter reading the reviews on TA, we booked an apartment at less than half the nightly rate that the hotels offered and braced ourselves for the worst, citing the mantra that all we needed was a clean bedroom and a bathroom and hopefully in a quiet area. What a glorious surprise when we arrived. The front desk staff who are students from the college which is where you stay, could not be more friendly and delightful. We got a plain but spotlessly clean 2 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor with a fully functioning bathroom (great shower pressure and hot water) and kitchen. You have to borrow pots,pans,kettle,cutlery,mugs…etc from the front desk if you want to cook but all we wanted was a kettle to make tea and the big fridge could also accommodate snacks and other beverages. The weather was broiling hot during our time there but each bedroom has a window air conditioner that rapidly cooled the room down enough that you could turn it off before going to sleep. The beds were comfortable though, my only complaint, the pillows left a lot to be desired. There is a small TV in each bed room with lots of channels. The wifi is also free and quite fast! The building is a short walk from the downtown area with a free and huge parking lot right across the street from it. The area is very quiet at night and so we slept well. The only other thing we had to borrow were lamps for the side bed table as there were none other than glaring overhead lighting. There is also a free breakfast in a small room that overcrowds in a nanosecond, (the Hall was sold out during our stay and it is much bigger than we thought!), however the coffee is excellent as were the bagels and it was simple to just go down and bring back to the room. For the price we paid it was very reasonable and we didn't feel deprived of any essential creature comforts. All in all we had a great vacation in beautiful Prince Edward Island!
