Quality Inn Suites Brossard

This little hotel in Brossard, Quebec (Canada), used to be a Quality Suites before. The staff, who were super friendly and very helpful, said that when Hilton purchased this property from Quality Suites they were shut down for around 1 year to transform the inside. All rooms were redone. Everything new. Very simple and nothing fancy. The breakfast is a very simple breakfast. Bagels, muffins, toast, fruit, cold hard-boiled eggs, fruit drinks, tea and coffee. The staff in the food area were very helpful and they made sure that the eating area was spotless and ready for the next group to sit down to eat. No hotel parking in front of the hotel. You have to park your car in the back of the hotel in an ungated parking area. It would be nice in the future if the parking is gated and more lighting. Hopefully, for the future, can get parking spots in front of the hotel for people having a hard time walking or moving around so much.

The hotel is located just off the highway and near malls and other stores. Access to the REM is just a few minutes walk away with easy access to Montreal. The room is comfortable and wash room clean. The breakfast was basic but adequate. The ladies tending to the breakfast area were amazing and staff were very nice if we asked for anything.

In life, everything is relative, and so is my rating of the Spark by Hilton Montreal Brossard. Spark Hotels are intensive redesign and rebuild of former value hotel locations such as Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Ramada Hotels and other similar brands. As an intensively refurbished hotel, it is doing an excellent job and is absolutely above average when compared to its peers... but in the end, it is still a value brand with some of the limitations that comes with it. What I enjoyed: -Very friendly front desk employees who processed my check-in quickly once I got to them. -Quality refurbishing of the common areas and the rooms -Modern, large bathroom. Good size shower with good temperature control and good water pressure. -Hilton's standard Zero brand bathroom amenities for value and mid-tier hotels -Good size bedroom with a nice and modern sofabed (as the extra bed) -Sufficient seating -Everything new and in working order -Relatively convenient location near Mail Champlain and the Taschereau exit of Hwy 10 -Nice pool and gym -Room was prepared as requested -Bed was comfortable The less fun stuff: -Although the online check-in and credit card pre-authorization did not result in getting a digital key, even though I got notification that my room was ready. I had to stand in line at the front desk, and the person ahead of me took forever - not the hotel's fault, but inconvenient -Only one elevator. Yes, the hotel has only 3 floors but there are times when wait times were on the longer side -Extremely basic continental breakfast - This is a brand standard, and quality was there but still, way too basic... to the point that there is a sign in the breakfast area that if you are looking for something else, well, visit the hotel shop for hot breakfast sandwiches ($$) -The AC which is right next to the bed - and while the quiet kind, all through the wall units are noisy in some way. These units also lead to so-so temperature control. -Value hotels can attract, especially on weekends, running kids (teams / tournaments), and the walls are not the best when it came to soundproofing. The room assigned was in a quieter area, but near the elevator so this was a distraction. We generally rarely stay in Brossard and if I had to stay there, my #1 choice would probably the Courtyard at 10x30, even though I am most loyal to Hilton. We'd actually usually stay in Montreal and go back and forth. I do not regret having stayed at this Spark location, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quality value hotel. Just not the type of hotel I usually go for.
