What an amazing stay! I stayed on the 21st floor in one of the newly renovated rooms, and it was spectacular. The room was beautiful, comfortable and offered breathtaking views over the Ottawa River and some of the city’s iconic landmarks. The hotel provided a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast, including eggs, fresh fruit, croissants and hot drinks, which was a lovely touch. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, and the pool, sauna and gym were excellent facilities for guests to enjoy. The only downside at the moment is that the hotel is undergoing renovations, so there are limited areas where you can socialise with other guests, and there is ongoing building work. However, I didn’t hear any construction noise during my stay, and I’m sure the hotel will look absolutely amazing once the renovations are completed. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. I would happily stay here again.

I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for 10 years now, staying there on average 10 times a year. This is by far the worst experience I have had with the staff. I was chased down by a front desk employee, Vanessa, for taking 5 water bottles (there were 3 of us in the room) which they advertised we could get since the water coolers were not working. She yelled at me through the closing elevator doors in front of other guests that I took more than she deemed appropriate and would be charged for 3 of them. I returned the "extra" bottles. So, if you're a fan of basic human rights like water or like to be treated with basic human decency - this is not the place for you. The individual standing next to her, Naveen, appears on their FB page touting their prioritization of customer experience but did nothing to intervene in this regard. Since I saw the Tiktok the lady made re: her experience at Marriott Kansas city front desk, this behavior seems par for the course. The property is under renovation which means the wi-fi and the parking access (which you're charged for) do not consistently work. At this stage, unless work is footing the bill - do not waste your money. The only positive is the location, however, there are several other Bonvoy properties such as Sheraton which provide the same benefit - I would pick them if you'd like NOT to be humiliated on your vacation

I booked the Ottawa Marriott in May 2026. The location is great and within walking distance to most tourist sites. Two days before our little vacation I received a message from Marriott saying it was undergoing construction. There would be no lobby and no restaurant. The hotel is definitely aging and you can see why they would be improving it. The check-in area is totally outdated. They had a little table near the elevators with coffee and tea in the morning without a muffin or a cookie to be found. When asked, they said they did not provide anything like that. The staff at the front desk were very abrupt and not very accommodating. The parking for two nights was $80. Due to the state of the hotel, I was expecting them to wave at least the parking or give a discount on the nightly rate for the lack of accommodations available. Definitely off my list and will not be booking any Marriott hotels going forward.I’m
