Auberge Manoir Ville Marie

Room was clean and washroom but the reason I put only 2 is because the room was cold and doesn't have a thermostat. Plus the breakfast was very poor. No eggs no juice and the bagels and toast bread was old. Have to leave with my wife and have and actual breakfast in a restaurant.

We were first welcomed by a pleasant and friendly host. The first impression of the room remained decent, nothing extraordinary but sufficient for sleeping 2 nights. On the other hand, we were woken up every night, the first by scratching sounds on the ceiling (apparently there was no neighbor above, according to the front desk). As for the breakfast, it is very modest, not restocked, neither in food nor in dishes, and the staff seems to want to avoid the guests as much as possible.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The most unacceptable issue was the lack of communication and attention from the staff. During check-in, I was asked if I had a car. I clearly said that I did not have one, and the employee acknowledged this information. However, the next day at around 1:30 AM, I received a message on my personal phone asking me to remove my car or it could be towed. I did not have a car, and this message woke me up in the middle of the night. After I finally fell asleep again, I received another message at 7:30 AM asking if I had removed the car. Instead of checking the situation themselves, the hotel contacted a sleeping guest again because of their own mistake. The hotel itself is very old and has a strong smell of humidity and mold throughout the building. I even saw staff using scented candles to try to cover the smell, but it did not help. The room was also very humid and stuffy. The air conditioning system was extremely noisy, constantly turning on and off, which made it difficult to sleep. The old refrigerator in the room was also very loud, and we had to unplug it at night. Another serious concern was the continental breakfast area. I found flies around the food, including sitting on meat/products. I have photos as proof, and this is completely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. The only positive thing I can say is that the housekeeping staff were excellent. They did a good job, and I have no complaints about them. They are the only reason I would give this hotel 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here.
