Hotel Auberge Manoir Ville-Marie

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The most unacceptable issue was the lack of communication and attention from the staff. During check-in, I was asked if I had a car. I clearly said that I did not have one, and the employee acknowledged this information. However, the next day at around 1:30 AM, I received a message on my personal phone asking me to remove my car or it could be towed. I did not have a car, and this message woke me up in the middle of the night. After I finally fell asleep again, I received another message at 7:30 AM asking if I had removed the car. Instead of checking the situation themselves, the hotel contacted a sleeping guest again because of their own mistake. The hotel itself is very old and has a strong smell of humidity and mold throughout the building. I even saw staff using scented candles to try to cover the smell, but it did not help. The room was also very humid and stuffy. The air conditioning system was extremely noisy, constantly turning on and off, which made it difficult to sleep. The old refrigerator in the room was also very loud, and we had to unplug it at night. Another serious concern was the continental breakfast area. I found flies around the food, including sitting on meat/products. I have photos as proof, and this is completely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. The only positive thing I can say is that the housekeeping staff were excellent. They did a good job, and I have no complaints about them. They are the only reason I would give this hotel 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here.

First time in Montreal, we were very disappointed with our stay! The place has a strong musty smell, room was extremely small for the outrageous price we paid. We left a day early because we couldn't sleep another night there. There were previous ppls hair in bath tub, not even a towel for each person on the reservation. Made reservations for three ppl, there were two medium towels one face cloth and on hand towel that had someone's hair on it also. Our son's bed had crumbs in it. The ac was so cold the first night second night was hot. You have not control of temp. The furniture was beat up, fridge didn't work. Breakfast was in basement and was very limited and not refilled. Floors don't look washed. Made our fist very disappointing. We didn't sleep in the beds but on top, beds didn't loot like they had new linens, looked like they were made nicely but with used linens

Decent rooms. Breakfast included. Good welcome. Pleasant staff. Unique building, former post office, then health house. About 9 parking spaces for 35 rooms, BUT there is the possibility to park on the street. On the outskirts, but a good stop.
