Hyatt Regency Montreal

Beautiful hotel smack dab in the middle of Montreal. Check in was fast, staff friendly. Love that doubletree welcome cookie. Room was comfortable and clean. Swimming pool was nice. The breakfast buffet was very nice with plenty to chose from. Overall a very nice Doubletree and a much better from the Crowne Plaza where is previously had stayed.

Hotel has an excellent location and the rooms were very nice. We only received bottle water on one day of the stay. The reception staff were not very helpful. We were charged in euro at a very expensive exchange rate which was not disclosed before hand. We were also charged 100$ per person incidental free which again was not disclosed until I challenged the price (this was refunded when we checked out). There is a self service snack area with menus only in French which makes it difficult to use and reception staff seem put out when asked to help. Overall I don't think it was worth the price.

They know the parking elevator will not let you out after 6pm unless you are holding down the button but they don’t tell anyone so we were stuck for 20 minutes with other upset guests. Computer system has been down over an hour so we are unable to check in and reception has been unbearably rude. My kids are exhausted and he says “oh I will give you the number for a manager if you just have to complain about waiting just 5 minutes.” It had been 45 minutes at that point. No end in sight. Has lied 4 times so far about things he claims to have said or done but never did.
