I was planning to book a room for two nights at the end of the month. Before booking, I called the hotel to confirm whether there would be any scheduled pool maintenance because my son was really looking forward to swimming during our stay.
My call was answered by a reservation agent who confirmed that there would be no pool maintenance during those dates. He then offered to make the booking for me. I initially declined because I thought it would be cheaper to book through the app.
However, the agent told me that the room rate was only $140 per night. I then asked what the total cost would be for two nights after taxes, and he told me it would be $300 CAD. To make sure I understood correctly, I asked him three different times if he was certain the total amount was $300, and each time he confidently said yes.
He then asked for my credit card information to reserve the room and specifically stated that my card would not be charged immediately.
However, as soon as I provided my credit card details, I received a notification that $473 CAD had been charged to my card. I immediately questioned the charge and asked why I was being charged that amount. Instead of explaining, the agent hung up on me while I was still speaking.
I was shocked and extremely disappointed by this experience. It felt very dishonest. After receiving my credit card information and being questioned about the charge, the agent simply ended the call.
I called back and spoke with another agent. While she did try to assist me, she seemed irritated when I repeatedly asked whether I would receive a full refund. Initially, she told me that I would not receive a full refund and that I would be charged for one night. I explained that I had been given incorrect information and asked her to speak with a supervisor or manager.
She later called me back and said that a refund would be processed. However, I have no written confirmation of that. I did receive a cancellation email, but it states that I "might" receive a refund, which is not reassuring.
My concern is that I made the booking based on inaccurate information provided by your reservation agent regarding both the total cost and how my credit card would be charged. Because of this, I expect a full refund.
I strongly advise future customers to be cautious when booking through the reservation phone line. My experience was frustrating and stressful, and I hope hotel management investigates this matter and ensures that other guests are not treated the same way.
I am requesting written confirmation that I will receive a full refund of the amount charged to my credit card.

Check in was easy with very friendly and helpful Staff. Parking was easy as well especially for Handi pass parking. Our room was on main floor, easy and convenient for someone with walking disability. Very clean, large open room with a huge handi accessible bathroom, complete with safety grab bars and large shower seat if needed as well. The actual adjustable hand held shower needs fixing. The adjustable holder that slides up and down, does not stay in place and the actual hand held wand falls out, spraying water everywhere.
The free breakfast is amazing. Lots to choose from, and includes bacon, turkey sausage, potato cubes, simple cheese omelet, muffins, toast, yogurt, juices and more.
We thought we had gotten eaten alive my mosquitoes on Tuesday and Wednesday, but when looked up images once back home..... BED BUG BITES 100%
And at 3 am on Thursday, went twice to the desk-security about the very load guests in the room next to us..... NOTHING done about it. Told desk upon check out, and all they could say was "Sorry"......

Just passing through Saskatoon on our way back home. My wife and I had stopped up the road a ways and had a late lunch. During that time I booked our stay. I’m a member of Hilton Honors & IHG. I always check them when look for a nights stay because they are a standard that suits me and they offer members low price guarantee. I didn’t find the price I want to I checked Hotwire. A lodging came up for a total of $120 US and I took it. Found out after booking it was a holiday inn. I was happy and I surprised the price was lower than I was quoted on the IHG site. Upon booking I mentioned that I was an IHG member and was told points would not count on this stay because I booked with an outside agent. I ask why and told I would get credit for the stay but not point. I said that’s too bad. I said I thought members were offered lowest price? She just smiled. I would take $ over points anyway so I moved on. Guess rules apply only to members. So those out there who are members prior to booking check other sources and maybe save a few bucks. $120 US vs 236 ca.
