Was comfortable and nice, was part of a cruise land tour so was everything it was supposed to be comfortable, great location, and warm.

Considering that Dawson City has only one (!) paved road, the house, owned by Holland America Line, acts as a summit of all comfort. However, objectively it is “only” a better motel. In the extensive complex there is a restaurant, a medium-sized and unwelcoming bar above. The rooms are functionally furnished and clean, although without any significant comfort. The beds are adequately dimensioned (even for people > 1.85 m), the mattresses medium hard and comfortable. The menu in the restaurant is clear, but most guests will certainly find it-especially the local ingredients (spaghetti bolognese with buffalo mince already has something ;-)) are something special. The quality and presentation of the food are fine-the price finding is rather expensive-but every “lumberjack” will be satisfied. The service, which almost exclusively consists of seasonal students, is friendly and courteous.

Even though they offered a printed breakfast menu, the only option available was to eat at the breakfast buffet. When I inquired about just having toast for my breakfast, the server indicated that was indeed OK, I just need to grab the toast from the buffet table and toast it myself. It was listed on the menu as $5. I didn't realize till afterwards that I was charged $5 for each piece of toast. Since I fixed myself 2 pieces of toast with butter, my bill was $10. It seemed outrageous to me, but speaking to the manager, it only confirmed that when one orders from the menu, that $5 would only result in one slice of toast from the kitchen (if the kitchen were open for ordering, which it was not), so when I toasted 2 pieces of bread from the buffet table myself, the cost was therefore $10. If you still choose to eat breakfast at Dawson City Inn, be prepared to pay $27 for a mediocre hot buffet, $22 for a continental buffet, or be satisfied with a $5 piece of toast.
