Yukon Inn

We stayed at the Yukon Inn from 29 Aug to 3 Sep 25. The place looks sketchy from the outside but our room was clean and comfortable with very comfortable beds. They were skimpy on the pillows, only two very thin pillows per bed but we asked for and received more. Towels were changed when necessary and beds were made daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A word of caution, this place is not for those with handicap issues. There is no elevator as it is only two stories and stairs are a must. You can see they have done renovations but they should have installed safety rails in the bathrooms. We had breakfast at Legends, the attached restaurant and the food was good and very reasonably priced. I’d stay there again.

This budget hotel was fine for a week in Whitehorse, with the exception of very poor staff. If they can improve the people, it could be a solid 3/5 option. The room was basic but clean and showed signs of having been refurbished in recent years. The beds were comfortable, there is plenty of storage space, and the coffee options were standard for a mid-hotel. Bathroom was clean and equipped with the usual toiletries. Laundry had multiple machines and was quick. Hotel to airport transfer was easy and free. The staff let the hotel down big time. Check in was like getting booked into jail! (Name - ID - room is on the left - next). Did not see a single smile from any desk staff. They would help with questions but treated guests like an inconvenience. Housekeeping ignored my room multiple times, and I had to go to reception for fresh towels. (There were holes in some towels, so a refresh would be helpful.) Generally, they need a major course in hospitality across the whole staff. The wifi was dreadful! I ran a speed test and never bettered 3mbps download. It dropped out on a regular basis too. My room was towards the edge of the complex, so others closer to the center may have a different experience. If so wifi repeaters are required. The air conditioner worked well for the room size but ran pretty noisy. The TV only had about 2/3 of the channels listed on the printout provided, many were blank or not subscribed to. It is on the industrial side of town, and in a slightly rougher area, but I never felt unsafe. There is a major shelter in the next block so don't be surprised to meet some interesting characters. Whitehorse is small enough that a walk into town only takes 20 minutes, just take 2nd Ave, not 4th. There's a supermarket and drug store across the road, and dining options in the next block. Overall, this hotel met my basic needs and fit my budget. Not for the luxury trip or romantic weekend, but if you want a basic hotel in Whitehorse it's okay.

My husband and I were recently in Whitehorse and stayed at this motel. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel is also great! The motel is close to shopping, and not far from the airport.
