We come to Arica often, and it has been years since we stayed at this hotel; however, I wanted to book here mainly because of the surroundings.
We arrived early on Tuesday the 19th.
But it has not been disappointing; rather, it has been one of the worst hotel experiences.
The refrigerator did not cool, they do not have amenities even for purchase, one of the windows did not lock, so someone could easily enter and steal without any problem. But that was not the worst; on Wednesday, I woke up at 9 in the morning, having already slept poorly because the bed and pillows were unbearable. I got out of bed and found water up to my ankles in the entire room except for the bathroom.
I notified the reception, and there was already someone vacuuming the water in the hallway and other rooms. I learned that a pipe burst at 6 in the morning in another area of the wing where we were staying, and no one had the decency to call us and warn us about the emergency to help us, change our room, or whatever was needed. My hotel sandals got wet, which I had brought because there are none here, so I asked for something I could use, and they brought me a pair of used "condoritos" Hawaiian-style sandals, which is truly unacceptable. They demonstrate that they have zero crisis management and terrible customer service, not to mention that there is a serious risk of electrocution with water on the floor, without any precautions. My phone charger got wet, and I don't know if it will work.
They changed our rooms, which we did not notice did not have ceiling lights, so when it got dark, my daughters needed to study and read, and there was not even a respectable amount of light, not to mention that only one of each bedside lamp turned on. Maintenance had to come to adjust it, and since the desk has no light, we requested a lamp… a simple table lamp; a little while later, the head of housekeeping arrives and offers us the floor lamp from the hallway!!! To enter my daughters' room; a 2-meter tall lamp with a giant shade.
Having decided that tomorrow we are going to Antay (where we have been before but this time, I wanted to spend my birthday in a less noisy environment), I order a boldo infusion for the night and they bring it to me WITHOUT A SPOON and with lukewarm water…
Tomorrow we are changing hotels and, although I do not want to specifically recommend a hotel this time, because in Arica the truth is that they are too laid-back, to the point of not meeting the minimum service in a hotel; I will beg you not to stay here; because it is the "ocean view" that I have paid the most for in terms of having a bad experience and honestly, it is not worth it at all.
The wifi in the room (450) does not reach the bed, so do not think you will be able to work lying down to rest for a while.
A dreadful experience that I wish no one else has to live through.
And they do not have exhaust fans in the bathrooms. The remote control for the air conditioning has a broken screen and nothing is visible. Too much antiquity, too much lack of experience and seriousness, too much amateur attention.

A hotel that claims to be 4 stars, unfortunately, is terrifying. They showed us to some cabins that are outside the hotel, whose mattresses were terrible, all sunken.
We were a group of 10 people on motorcycles. The dining area was a 10, but the receptionist was a zero; they claimed not to have any more rooms when I could actually see availability on websites. I would never return.
