Ping An Fu

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. While not a luxury hotel, for the low price it was quite nice and comfortable. It is right down the street from the subway and there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. It is just a couple of miles from major tourist locations like the Forbidden City. The room was comfortable and the hotel breakfast was quite good with many vegetarian options.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for a week. We chose Ping an fu for its location which was great. You can easily walk to a lot of places of interest. Otherwise the subway line 5 is just 50 meters away. We stayed in a twin room in the hotels basement, no windows, which did not bother us. The room was descent, the bathroom was clean, the beds were hard, but I’ve experienced the same kind of beds in both Thailand and Taiwan so it seems like standard for Asian budget hotels. To sum it up: if you are looking for a budget hotel with great location this is a good option. But don’t expect any luxury, you get what you pay for.

The location is really convenient, as it's right by a subway stop and a ton of stores and restaurants. The staff seemed pretty friendly and helpful as well. The room was not so great, however. We had a basement room without a window, which would have been fine, but the room had a funny smell and it got really hot. With no controls for the temperature, except to turn the heat on and off, we had to keep the door cracked open. The beds were also very hard, and mine had hairs under the sheets.
