Xinhai Jinjiang

The ventilation in the room was really bad. Even at moderate outdoor spring temperatures, the room was too warm and stuffy. The carpets in the room and corridors smelled moldy. Staying here during the height of summer heat would be even worse. Food in dining room is sufficient but not great. The currency exchange counter next to the front desk was out of Chinese currency the two times I tried it.

Not worth the price and 4. Star tag. It started with AC not working. Majority of the staff doesn't understand English. From reception to housekeeping to manager no one can speak or understand. Hotel acknowledged that AC were not working in any of the rooms as it was cold. However temperature inside room was high and we were not able to sleep.

The Xinhai JinJiang Hotel is is typical hotel in Beijing. Unlink the larger international brands, this one may not offer English speaking employees. Using your Google translator for typical questions is easy. Rooms are a little dated (not uncommon), but clean. Staff was kind and attentive. Good hotel for the price.
