We stayed in his Hotel for 5 nights when we visited Beijing. We stayed in a room without windows which felt strange but was very good for getting a good lie-in in the morning, it was hard to work out what time of day it was though. Also, the room smelled very strongly of smoke. The bedding was clean though and the beds were comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very nice, although we were the only ones eating there and the staff didn't seem to be very organised almost as if they were not expecting anyone to be eating. The Wi-Fi didn't work in our room without my phone being out of airplane mode which was annoying, and the connection was also very weak which meant that we were hardly able to use the internet at all during our stay. The good thing about the hotel was the location. It was only a 25 minute walk away from The Forbidden City and Tianmen Square, and was a 30 minute away from Wangfujing Street, a great place for shopping, eating and trying the crazy markets with cockroaches and scorpions etc to eat. We also went on a trip through the hotel which was alright but there were a long of things included in the trip that weren't advertised and that we were pressured into paying for (e.g. meeting Chinese medicine men and visiting Chinese tea rooms). We did get to see the Great Wall though, and the meal include in the trip was delicious. The only thing to be aware of is the price you pay for the trip - this hotel charged us 200 yuan, though one couple on our trip paid 160 and another paid 280. Overall the stay was good and was quite reasonable for what it was, but we wouldn't stay there again if we were to visit Beijing again.
