Media Center

Stayed here for 7 days for a business trip in Beijing. Stay was average here tbh. Had to pay to use their gym (which one of their staff didn’t recommend coz she said it’s small and old but I didn’t take a look inside. Strange is the gym is inside 1 of the hotel rooms that was converted), towels smelt so funky and stale always, mini bar fridge was always not cold. The good thing is the bed felt comfortable for me, water topped up daily, staffs were friendly, location was near military museum.

The venue is located near the military museum not so far from the verboten city. The hotel is quite large with some 10 floors. The rooms are not big and furnished in typical Chinese style. The mini bar is empty. For accessing the internet, a Chinese telephone number is necessary. The breakfast is more or less Chinese style and without fried eggs. I paid some 600 RMB for laundry which was rip-off.

Stayed at media center from 31st August to 03rd september. The sorrounding are very good. Right in the center of town neighbouring the military mesium on the west, the Beijing play park on the East and the Military Hotel on the North. It cannot be any better located. The rooms are very small with a single bed however they are clean and they offer the best service to say the least. Very few staff can utter an English word making it very difficult for international travellers. Breakfast is good with a lot of options for the western traveller. MEDIA center is a place to be but for the challenges of language.
