This is certainly not a luxury hotel, but if you are okay with a bit more simple accommodation, this is well worth the money. A small place in the hutongs with definitely more character than the big chain hotels. The room was small and had no window, but it was clean and tidy, and because of the small size, it got warm quickly with the electric radiator. Sound-proofing is not great, but I was lucky enough not to have noisy neighbours. The place is easily accessible even from the airport by taking the airport express to the end station and then changing to metro for one stop only, and then it is a 5-minute walk

Pay attention to your receipt, as these guys tell you the price in CNY as booked, but then charge you in another currency (in my case Euros at a 10%+ premium) Rooms were terribly smelly from the bathroom drains. It’s common in older Chinese hotels but this one was especially bad, and it gets into the bedroom area since the bathroom doors don’t close properly.

We decided to give the hutong experience a try but was quite disappointed as we were given a room with no windows. Also it can be quite noisy as the sound proofing is not very good. Room is clean n basic. Don't expect hotel type of bed .it's basically just spring mattress with not much foam .I had slept in more comfortable bed in a shared dorm in bangkok n Paris. As for location. Very close to 2 metro stations which can get u to many places and lots of eateries outside. Wifi is good but there are many non china apps that you cannot use, like WhatsApp, Instagram, Google. We have our own data but it's useless as the signal is very weak in the room. In all...good value for location. Room wise , I thought it could be 10 to 20% cheaper but this is Beijing, things are expensive compared to other cities in China. We may actually cone back if given a better room for the money that we paid
