Xiamen Edinburgh Lodge Hotel Kester exhibition

There are some really well done budget hotel chains in China and this is definitely NOT one of them. I barely wanted to touch anything in my room. The pillows smell, there is mold behind the wallpaper, the bathrooms look like they haven’t been waterproofed or maintained in a few decades. It was really hard to find an acceptable room because they 1/ smelled like cigarettes 2/ smelled like mold 3/ had extremely visible mold on the walls or 4/ just smelled really weird like new varnish. When I showed the staff this gigantic patch of mold that was like 3*3 feet growing on the wall being the television, their response was well, it doesn’t smell bad does it? I haven’t even gotten to the extremely stained carpets or the visibly peeling wallpaper. Or the extremely loud AC / Heating Units. If these were the only issues I would have been very happy. I will say that the hotel staff did try pretty hard to find a room for me, and I am thankful for this. My advice would be to avoid like the plague. Because if you stay here you might catch it.
