Guangzhou Hong Yuan Hotel

The hotel doesn't have a lot going for it - the location isn't super convenient, the service was at a bare survival level and the breakfast was not that great. However, the rooms were quite large, clean and ours (on the 9th floor) had a nice view. The area has some really nice restaurants, including a really good Xinjiang resto just adjacent to the hotel which served amazing mutton grills (made me less homesick for Dubai). It isn't very expensive either, so all in all, the Hongyuan is perfect for those who don't really care for spending too much time at their hotel and would rather spend their time out and about Guangzhou.
