Guangzhou Konggang Hotel

We booked Konggang Hotel for an overnight stopover between flights. It was only a 10 minute drive from the airport- they have a hotel shuttle which worked well- you will need to phone them on arrival at the airport to pick them up- It's a Konggang Hotel branded little minibus which is great as we were a little worried whether we'd know it was legit! The hotel manager 'Tony' was lovely and spoke pretty good English. The rest of the staff were lovely. Our room was okay- the bed was VERY hard, but the room was fairly clean, good size and served its purpose. Slightly musty smell, but was fine for one night.

Bad weather cancelled our connecting flight to Shanghai so we were freaking out as there were a million people screaming and trying to sort out flights in the terminal. We thought we'd have to sleep in the airport until we were met by a security guard who took us to the free shuttle bus. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and understanding (even by Chinese standards) and we were given a reasonable rate for a last minute booking. It's old and daggy but the rooms are huge with all the facilities you'd need. It's not something I'd recommend for a holiday stay but in our time of need it was fine - plus, it made a great holiday story and we didn't have to sleep at the airport!

Quite a nice hotel to stay may be cost per room a bit expensive. The room is quite spacious which has 3 beds and can easily accomodate 3 adaults and 2 childrens. The good thing about Konggang hotel is that it provide shuttle service to and from Baiyun Gz intr' airport for free. I must say the manager and the staff are very helpfuf however it was hard to communicate with them cos they speak little english.Overall if you want to stay near to the airport Konggang hotel is the answer however you must be prepared to absorb the noise from the airplanes' engines landing at Baiyun Gz intr' airport cos Konggang hotel is under the planes' path.
